Fallen from sky
Fallen from sky 2009 – 2015 is an Oscar Seco paintings serie,
Between social criticism and still lifes runs these surreal scenarios – colossal birds and ruins, appropriated from baroque artists Snyders, Claesz or Chardin – fallen as bombs in buildings.
The artist restricts the use of their usual bright colors, to use only the black and white and color ranges derived.
The result is photographic and documentary.
The literary references in this series refer to the cycle of apocalyptic novels of J.G. Ballard as novels as Mihail Bulgakov’s “The Fatal Eggs” or “Food of the Gods” by H.G. Wells.
